Since hatching, Nefra long assumed she was an abandoned hatchling as she was hatched to no parents. She is rather beautiful, and is gradually becoming even moreso, and is taking quite a bit of pride in her appearance as she preens each day. However, she eventually met a much older dragon, who claimed to be her sister. Lady is the leader of her own clan, the whole lair filled with descendants of her or her companion, with perhaps a few extra stragglers having joined. A fond mate, beautiful children, a powerful lair organized so nicely with Lady at the center... Nefra was suddenly quite aware that in the Citadel, she was not nearly so successful. The entirety of the Citadel, after all, is not related by blood (save for a few imperials, whose lineage is much more diligently archived). The leader has been, and always will be, Rae and whoever she trusts at the time to guide her judgment. Hatchlings are shuffled off either to other lairs, or raised carefully to dutifully serve the Lightweaver. It occurred to Nefra that she was just another face in the crowd in the Citadel, because the entirety of the Citadel was filled with highly attractive (or impressively intimidating) dragons, none of which concerned themselves with their heritage. Initially, this embittered Nefra towards Lady, envying the strong familial bond that the imperial had with her lair and the respect, reverence and beauty she had. Her initial dislike simmered for a time before finally fizzling out, Lady's calm and accepting behavior overwhelming the sense of envy. Lady, after all, greeted her with open arms and with love as a sister at every moment they met, sharing the affection she shared with her family just as easily with Nefra. Since then, Nefra has made frequent visits to Lady, usually bringing a meal to share with her very large, very regal sibling.
