charming • secretive • wine-lover Let's break out a cask! Rocher loves wine. He grew up alongside his clan's vineyard. Merchants and dragons came from far and wide to sample his clan's famous wine. He learned from a young age everything he could about every kind of wine, even before he was allowed to drink it; the few they didn't create themselves, his clan imported. When he came of age he was sent to another famous vineyard to advance his learning. When he returned he was allowed to start working on his own flavor. He met Merlot when she arrived on her merchant route to pick up the first cask. She was already a well-known wine-merchant, known for her exceptional taste. She was easily just as knowledgeable as him, if not more so, but didn't seem to hold an ounce of snobbery. She ordered his first cask and paid for it before tasting it, telling him she knew it would be excellent because he had put his heart into it. Their courtship was so long and easy it came as a surprise to him when he realized his feelings had grown so strong. He felt no urgency. They let their relationship slowly blossom between her long trips away for business, bonding over carafes of the rare and exquisite wine she always brought back for him. It was a smooth and natural transition when she asked him to live with her, in Cornifer, and start their own vineyard. It was about time for him to strike out on his own as a winemaker anyway. Rocher loves to chat; anyone that visits the vineyard while Rocher is working can strike up conversation. He quickly befriended all of Cornifer's Guard by offering a sweet sangria they all loved. He laughs easily, a deep and booming laugh, and he holds his liquor admirably from many years of practice. He loves drinking in celebration and often drinks others under the table if they're foolish enough to challenge him. Wine is not his only passion, and he is also an excellent cook. He often helps Cinnamon with feasts and dinners. He became close friends with Simon, Clan Starslang's chocolatier, though he likes the milk and white chocolates much more than Merlot. Truth be told, no one in Cornifer actually knows much about him. He keeps his feelings to himself, often steering conversations back to superficial topics when people try to pry. He only opens up to Merlot; she is the only one that even knows about the three hundred year old vintage bottle his mother passed down to him; his mother's previous Charge, now passed onto him. She is also the only one that has tasted from his private collection. With others, he simply has no desire to share. This has led him to be somewhat of a diary for some members of Cornifer; his ability to keep a secret draws those that need to vent. He can often be seen pestered by Andromeda over whatever drama she wants to learn that day.
