The Experiments

Nutmeg liked to think that he was a very good doctor. He was good at his work, despite never really having the formal training. He was good at sutures and splicing, and for being as young as he was, he liked to think that he was very talented.

But then he started to experiment. And he found he was good at that too. Better than anything else in fact. He liked to take chemicals and materials that he found to try and fuse them or cause interesting reactions.

He didn't do it because he thought that it would cause some fantastic break through. No...he did it just because he liked to see what would happen.

His clan mates really shouldn't have been surprised.

From birth, he was...strange to say the least. He never really got on with the other hatchlings or fledglings. He mostly kept to himself and to his books. He ate alone, slept alone and worked alone. He was never bothered by solitude.

He was odd, so it wasn't like any of his clan mates ever missed his presence. They did, however, miss a young dragon who had gone missing. She had gone out to gather food, but hadn't returned and after weeks of searching, the others decided that it was time to give up. Something had definitely happened, but they just couldn't find her. They held a small funeral in her honor, mourning her over that evening's fire.
