Biography


Born a light dragon, Rayne gained powers of shadow after an encounter with the Shadowbinder herself. Rayne had been exalted in service of the Lightweaver, but was cast out after this. She wandered Sornieth for a while as a traveling healer. Along the way she found a wind egg and a young pearlcatcher hatchling, adopting them both as her own. Senzo had heard of her abilities as a healer, and figured he could use them to his advantage. He sought her out and offered her a place to stay, so long as she served his purpose. Rayne knows better than to trust him but didn’t want her daughters to be without a permanent home. Nowadays, she serves as the clan’s main healer, brewing potions for clan use and for sale. On rare occasions, she ventures out on expeditions with Baratheon’s senior guard. She doesn’t like to talk about her life before joining the clan much, and very few know that she is incredibly skilled in combat. Although there are much odder dragons in the clan than she, Rayne still opts to keep her dual magics a secret, honing her shadow magic on her own.
