Seeing as there are so many new younglings in the lair, Celestia has taken it upon herself to teach those new wings how to fly. Someone in the lair has to make sure these dragonlings don't fly into the ceiling after all.

Every morning, she wakes the hatchlings and takes them out to practise. Sometimes, she supports them on her long back, flying high and showing them around the Sea of A Thousand Currents. More than once, one of the hatchlings has actually fallen off. But in Celestia's opinion, that only helps them learn faster. Besides, what their parents don't know wont't hurt them, and she almost always catches the hatchling before they hit the floor (or water).

When she's not giving out flying lessons, she flies above their lair to make sure there's no danger coming from up high. Sometimes, she even brings back some flying snacks.
