Ruhi

Ruhi is originally from the Lair by the Sea. When she came to the Saurus clan as a hatchling, she was a little overwhelmed. With so many unfamiliar dragons around, she felt lost. Luckily, she was not the only new dragon. She noticed Erru right away; he was the shiny one causing a ruckus as Elder Fiago threw him out of the forge yet again. Ruhi remembered feeling embarrassed just watching the spectacle.

That was nothing compared to her mortification when she and Erru actually met.

She tried to be careful, she really did. She wanted to do a good job painting the small cavern that the elders had assigned. But Ruhi, for all her caution, was never graceful. Before she knew it, there was paint all over the floor...and her scales where they dragged on the ground. She tried to clean it up before anyone could see it, but the more she tried to get it off the more it seemed to stick. That is how Erru found her: whimpering on the floor and covered in beige paint.
'You know, that paint is a good color for you.' She glared up at him, a growl rising up from her sniffles. 'That is not funny! I tried really hard but it won't come off!' Erru raised his claws defensively. 'No, I mean it. It matches your wings. I think you should keep it.' She blinked at him. He seemed different from the brazen creature she had seen fighting with the elder dragon earlier. 'Do you really mean it?' she asked. He nodded. Ruhi smiled.

From then on, Ruhi and Erru were fast friends. True, Erru is still getting into trouble and Ruhi is hanging back out of the spotlight. She is quiet and watchful, and he runs into things without thinking. But he doesn't mock her for her clumsiness, and she doesn't pester him with lectures about his behavior. They work well together.

And soon, they will see how well their odd dynamic works for parenting.
