Laminate works closely with the few clan projects involving pipelines and waterworks components. Since there are few enough of those in progress, she more effectively spend her time installing miscellaneous components and connections as needed by the Battery Division.

Having a lot of downtime between pipeline and reservoir maintenance (the clan typically out-sources most of the water transport process these days), Laminate uses her free time to work on her hobby of making small candle-power steam-powered contraptions out of scrap lying around the Science Division. She'll happily talk for hours to any dragon who will listen about new techniques for fitting pieces together and crafting the delicate moving joints that she incorporates into her collection of trinkets.

Ultraviolet from the Arcane research division was unexpectedly interested in Laminate's steam-power projects, particularly in the power source. And that's how Laminate ended up involved in drafting a preliminary systems schematic for a steam generator incorporated with the new nucleics project.
