A few years ago I learned how to sing overtones, little orbs of crystal sound made by air that I rolled into shape with my tongue.

I started hearing them everywhere after that. The entire world sing with them. They're in the space between the noises car engines make, in the songs of trees and the voice of the winds. The day I left that class, I understood that even the finest song can never make us hear them. But I hope you will hear them. Your songs, the ones you must learn to sing in order to hear. I hope they will sound to you like light when it gleams in the dew and playfully throws its glitter into the waves.
