Persephone
The Dark Horse
Born in shadows, thrust into light. Her parents were unknown to the world, lacking even a name to call them by. In her nest, there was two. Herself, and a sister. They were hatchlings, fresh from their eggs, when they were thrust into the auction house to be sold. Persephone was taken first, never even knowing the fate of her sister.
Despite the disputes between the flights of Shadow and Light in the past, it was a clan of Light who took the child in. It was clear that she had caused a dispute in the clan, from when she heard the shouting from the meetings she was refused entrance to. Some of the dragons treated her as an outsider, while a select few nurtured the child.
As the days progressed, she developed rapidly. Her growth was unnaturally fast, with her even being able to use her tiny wings within a couple of days. Her magical aptitude grew too, with her using her magic from tricks and illusions. This caused some worry within the clan, and the child was left in the care of Lunrus, and his new assistant Dragoness. The pair could both see the darkness which radiated from the girl, but also the power. The grace. The ability to become a leader so strong that she could even conquer Claude's rule.
The pair trained the hatchling's natural abilities, teaching her new spells, as well as assisting her in learning more practical skills in order to help her take the crown which belonged to her. When the child grew up into a mature dragon, all the skills which she had learned and gained had somehow exponentially grown in strength. It was almost like she had accessed the untapped well of power within her.
Claude knew of her growth. He went to visit the girl, but he did not expect what his eyes laid upon. She practically glowed and sparkled, and was graceful beyond measure. Claude finally accepted Persephone into the clan truely, but he was unaware of the plotting behind his back. The crown, the title of leader, would be Persephone's. And nothing would stand in her way.
With the discovery of the Coatl, Bucky, Persephone began to learn she was not the only one who's power seemed impossible in a normal dragon. He too had been blessed with power much like hers, but rooted to his fiery passion. Persephone and Bucky grew close and became allies, and she soon agreed with Bucky that if the pair ruled together, nothing could stop them. So the pair became partners, who would soon dominate Scintilliant Skies.... And likely much more.
