Biography
Perihelion Closest to the sun outgoing | quick | clever Bio Pending After Skaay created Aphelion, the worlds balance was tilted. The Goddess Aakara noted this, and spoke with her mate, Owl. "The humans spend more and more time praying to me, begging for the night terrors to stop. Has Skaays creation truly spread this far?" Owl seemed to ponder this, he asked his beloved wife to give him time to figure this out. Owl spent days wandering the earth, disguised as a hawk during the day, and an owl at night. He discovered that the humans were getting little to no sleep, as Skaays monstrosity wandered into cities and left terror in its wake. The poor beast didn't even know it. Owl watched for a few more days before returning to his mate. "The beast must be stopped!" Aakara exclaimed upon hearing the stories Owl returned with, "Aakara my love, the beast has left its mark on every city. We can't stop him... but maybe if we countered him?" His suggestion sparked interest in Aakara, who diligently travelled to Erebus, the fallen planet. She scoured the crust and fought off the beasts of darkness that lingered. She knew the fallen moon would be all but depleted, after all, Skaay preferred darkness to light. As she was beginning to lose hope, she saw a spark. A little, tiny, piece of the fallen sun, glinting as only a star can. She bounded to it, only to find that it was truly a small piece. She went to her knees, crestfallen. "I had such hope..." She trailed off. Thinking of all her beloved humans, all of the small ones who hoped for sweet dreams and joyful days. Her sadness turned to anger, and she snarled, "You will protect them. You may not fight against Aphelion, but you..." she paused, drew a breath and smiled, reaching deep into herself and drawing out bits of her joy. The love she felt for her humans and their little ones, the love she felt for her mate and all her fellow gods - even Skaay - and she smiled. "You will fight beside them. Show them who you are. Who we are. You will show children that there can be light in any darkness." Aakara breathed life into the little star shard, watched it grow and warp. A small beast emerged from the dust, it blinked at her and chortled, nuzzling deep into her robes. Aakara returned to earth, her sun beast beside her, she greeted the people of her modest temple in the mountains, "This wee beast will be our friend, as well as Aphelions friend." The women of her temple smiled, greeting the wee beast as they were expected to. A young child darted up and placed her hand delicately upon the beasts nose, gently caressing its face with a look of awe on her face. "Whats its name?" she asked, her eyes briefly glancing at Aakara. Aakara seemed to think on it, "Well, Skaay has Aphelion... This will be Perihelion. The closest point to the fallen sun." |
