Biography
bar/butterfly
And then there was the problem of that runaway initiate. The High Priestess racked her brain for the girl's name. Ah, yes-- Cyra Arazi. It was not the first time in her years as head of Latonia's temple that a girl had run away, but it was the first time one had, some months later, been discovered in hiding with a group of thieves and a necromancer. The former was not so surprising, as the girl had been a thief before she was found to be one of Latonia's chosen, but the latter?
The High Priestess was one of the very few people in the Empire who knew that necromancy was no rogue school of magic, but an art sacred to Necatia, goddess of justice, ice, and death-- and Latonia's opposite in every way imaginable. The boy-- Athanasius Livius Corvinus, or "Than" for short, according to the Keepers-- must be utterly repulsive to the Arazi girl, yet she had tolerated living in close proximity to him for several months.
It was a mystery. The High Priestess liked mysteries, but only ones she had orchestrated. This one slid under her skin like a splinter and itched.
