Biography
I couldn't utter my love when it counted
Ah, but I'm singing like a bird, 'bout it now
I couldn't whisper when you needed it shouted
Ah, but I'm singing like a bird, 'bout it now

Azoun had never wanted, nor expected, the responsibility of leadership to fall on his aching shoulders. He had lived a life of war and suffering before he had escaped to the Gladeveins, where his injured body was cared for and nursed back to health by an eccentric fae dragon, Anadulsite.
The small dragon had come to call a humble clan of three dragons as his own and welcomed Azoun into their home with open wings. Anadulsite was warm, and kind, an absolute ridiculous oaf of a dragon... And Azoun fell in love.
Yet as these things go, Azoun kept his feelings close to his scales. His mind yet still could not accept peace. He kept close to their clan's leader, pledging his utmost loyalty to him and any who may find their way into his clan. The fae trusted easily, but Azoun was always beside him to be sure the fae was not too nieve.
Disaster struck when Azoun was out on a hunt with some fellow clanmates.
Andalusite was dying. The fae dragon had been hiding an illness for years, a birth defect that affects the way his oxygen flowed through his veins. His time to leave their land was coming, and coming fast.
Azoun grieved, furious at himself for not seeing the signs sooner. For not questioning why his beloved leader had always been a poor flyer or needed to land upon his head to catch his breath so frequently.
Andalusite passed that night, with his clan around him.
He had named Azoun as their next leader, and on his deathbed, told the guardian words he had been too cowardly to say. Words they both had been too cowardly to say.
Azoun would forever mourn what he could have had, but took his beloved's dying wish, and swore to protect the clan at any cost.
And so he has.
