Silvanus or "Silas"
"wood, forest"

Found as an unhatched egg by Guinevere, Silvanus - or Silas, for short - wasn't hatched and reared in the accepted way other eggs are in the Clan. When Guinevere found him, he wasn't near the Tidelord's domain at all. No, he was found in the depths of a tangled forest that she can only assume was the Viridian Labyrinth, near the Gladeveins. Her only assumption was that his either abandoned or lost egg must've floated down river, somehow, and ended up in another Flight's region altogether.

Even though the Clan rules state lost eggs aren't meant to be tampered with unless they're found within the Clan's borders or gifted by another Clan, Guinevere disregarded this and took him home anyway. When se returned she claimed she'd found the egg at the very edge of Dragonhome, on the watery border between the Viridian Labyrinth and Dragonhome. While it was not forbidden to cross borders, taking eggs without knowing where they came from was. Sacrifice had made a rule that until an egg was officially declared abandoned or without parents, it was not to be taken in or hatched. So, with that rule in place, the Imperial made up the lie from whence the beginning of Silas' life would commence.

Once he had hatched, Sacrifice was ready to have him raised with the other hatchlings as all other newborns are, but Guinevere insisted she could raise him instead. She was close to her first cooldown and nearing ready to bear her first clutch with her mate, Zephyros. Only on the conditions that she, as a soon-to-be expecting mother, would learn to raise a hatchling she found was the Imperial granted to bend the normal rules in that instance.

Silas' strikingly dark eyes mirrored the depths of the Leviathan Trench not only in color, but in complexity. How could a dragon harbor wisdom in such young eyes? Guinevere, never taking much liking to the water, disregarded this chilling fact about her new "son" and claimed he never felt a connection to his Water Flight history. After several weeks of being told this, Silvanus began to believe it. .. but if he was not a water dragon at heart, then what was he? Would he learn the workings of his new Earth Flight? Would Guinevere teach him the Icy ways of her past? Most importantly, would Sacrifice find out about his real past?

---

Once he was more matured, and after strenuous overshadowing by Guinevere, Silvanus grew into a young adult in a much different manner than the other dragons. While most everyone in the Clan was kind and caring towards one another, Silas' "mother" didn't let him play or even really interact with other dragons. She took him out with her where ever she went, and while she was secretly practicing spells, he was beginning to think that magic was just a way of life, and was thoroughly confused as to why the other dragons couldn't perform small tricks - like chanting spells that could make nuts fall from trees, or making a rose bloom in a matter of seconds - like he could. She told him it was because he was special, and they weren't, so they'd always be jealous and never understand.

Silas found he was often drawn to the water more times than not. Even though "mother" wanted him to learn Druidic magic because she said he had a gift for it, he just wasn't as interested in it as he was with the water. Water.. water showed him a real reflection of himself, not the one Guinevere had twisted and morphed for him. In his heart were shadows of doubts about the true nature of his younger days. The dragon in front of him bore deep, brilliant royal blue eyes, but in the eyes of his "mother" he ought to have been born with Nature eyes instead. Why was she so intent about that? Why couldn't he just keep practicing water manipulation, like he'd been doing in secret?

Tired of pretending, Silas marched over to Guinevere one day and proclaimed he was through with druidic magic, and from now on he was going to practice water manipulation and spells instead. Infuriated at his sudden (as she viewed it) defiance, the Imperial went into a fit of rage and flung Silvanus into a boulder, then threatened to drown him in his beloved water. Horrified, he tried reason with her, tried to tell her she was his real mother, and he'd do as she said from now on. He would listen from now on, because he'd acted out of teenage rebellion. He'd grow out of it, surely.

Guinevere would have no part in his lies though. She knew he wouldn't do the things he was promising, because he never wanted to be those things, and she couldn't force him any longer. In her fit of villainous rage, she spat out "I never wanted to be your mother! I was grooming you to become my magical familiar, so I could be a true witch! All my other familiars have left me, but if I raised one of my own, that learned to love and trust me, maybe, just maybe, I could make it as powerful as I will become. Then, when it obeyed me and only me, I would become the strongest dragon in the Clan, one no one would look down on ever again!" The conviction in her words finally hit home with Silas. That's why he didn't have friends. That's why he wasn't like the others. She's the reason he became this way. She had deceived him.
He was trapped. He always had been.

---

After hours of arguing and battling with her, Silas grew too weak to continue. Even with his amateur water magic and even novice druidic conjuring, he couldn't defeat the one that trained him. Bruised and scarred, Silas made one last bold move. Begging for her not to condemn him to a life without a Clan - because he knew if they both returned now, her completely and wholly false story would be believed over his because she had friends that would easily back her up - he reasoned that if he could break apart from her, he wouldn't ever try to let her secret out. He would keep quiet about it, remain in the Clan with her, but never speak to or about her again.

Guinevere contemplated this for a long while. If he could escape to his old Nature home, or worse yet, to the Tidelord's domain, and convince anyone of the real story, she could be exiled to a worse fate than being exalted and having to serve a Deity for the rest of her life. His ultimatum seemed to be the best option for them both, where neither would risk losing their home and place in the Clan. Agitated but in agreeance, she finally let in to his request and agreed to the terms that they would never be in communication or even in the same proximity ever again.

Silas loathed her, but at the same time, he loved the Clan she'd brought him into. Not everyone was like her.. no, no one was like her in Sacrifice's Clan. He wasn't ready to give up a loving home for her. She could ruin everything else for him, but not that. So, if it meant he could keep his home and his sanity, he'd also agree to the despicable, repulsive terms they both made out of mutual, new-found hate for one another.
At least now he could have a chance at being normal.

---

Days went by after they both returned to the Clan. One of the conditions of the deal they'd struck was that the wounds they bore wouldn't be visible, for obvious reasons. So, instead of wearing very minimal apparel such as his hood and hat, Silas hid his scars with layers upon layers of apparel. He didn't like it, but hey, on the bright side, it made him look a little bigger.

Neither hide nor hair of Guinevere was seen, by anyone, for weeks. He began to wonder if she'd fled, but dismissed the idea, knowing she wouldn't let go of her spot in the Clan. What did he care? She.. she didn't care about him, and he shouldn't care about her. He needed to stop thinking about her. At the same time, she was the only parental figure he'd ever had in his life, the only dragon he'd ever let himself get close to, and now she was just gone. Upset for still harboring conflicting feelings about her, Silas became more and more reclusive in the next weeks for fear of lashing out at any of his Clanmates.

Over time he battled against some rogue enemies on the outskirts of the territory, begrudgingly using his water abilities. Magic was something she had taught him, and even though she had condemned the use of his water manipulation, he still liked using the skill, which irritated him even more. Why couldn't he just stop making ties back to her?! He was his own dragon now, he could do what he wanted! However, he was becoming oddly skilled in defeating opponents with just his magical abilities alone..

You got two black eyes from loving too hard
And a black car that matches your blackest soul
I wouldn't change ya, oh oh
Wouldn't ever try to make you leave, no-oh

Just another, just another, uh oh
Just another, just another, uh oh
Just another, just another, uh oh

Theme song 1
There was truth, there was consequence, against you
A weak defense, then there's me
I'm 17, and looking for a fight
All my life, I was never there just a ghost, running scared
Here our dreams aren't made, they're won

Bought my fate, straight from hell
A second sight has paid off well
