Backstory
For some Guardians, the identity of their charge is known from the moment they are hatched. It calls to them with the utmost of certainty, and before the last of their shell can be shed, they know where they must go.

Karasmontana was not one of these Guardians.

Her sister, Salicola, was blessed with a simple search for her charge. In fact, it wasn't much of a search at all. The Gladekeeper beckoned her from her first breath, and it was all Ephedra and Helianthus could do to keep her from leaving immediately. After time and training (and plenty of meetings with the clan leaders), Salicola joined the ranks of the Exalted in service of the Gladekeeper. Karasmontana was heartbroken. Her twin sister was her world, and for a time, the young dragon thought she might very well have lost her charge. It was during a time of particular sorrow that she stumbled across the caverns. She was instantly struck with the concrete knowledge that this was her place to build, to defend, to serve. She would honor the memory of her sister, and every dragon that passed through the Viridian Labyrinth. A seemingly endless task, but one that Karasmontana was destined to undertake.

The clan archives hold more stories and records than one drake could possibly read, and the collection of knowledge is overseen by a Guardian with more wisdom than her youth might suggest.
