History

Surely, it's Adipocere's long past on the wastes of the shifting expanse that made him who he is. After all, aren't those descended from lightning known for their...resourcefulness?

If there was a dragon that was more looked down upon in the lair than Adipocere, he would like to meet them. No better words are there to describe him than brutish, tactless, and sadistic. It was only due to Anthurium's guidance and strict discipline that he became tolerable in the slightest. Before she wrangled him in for the trio of hunter-gatherers, he was a nuisance of a loner dragon, sometimes stealing into the lair during the night to thieve food and precious material. Anthurium caught him one evening, and convinced him to instead be a hired hand for the clan, or else she would deal with him in a more permanent fashion.

His personality certainly wasn't why he was allowed to stay, but the coin called to him. As did Anthurium's threats.

Known for his poor tact and bad sense of humour, Adipocere is a frequent instigator of chaos in the lair. When he isn't under Anthurium's thumb, he sets up traps and tricks now and again to ensnare his clanmates, making them part of his own malicious jokes. After a series of ill pranks, his old mate, Malady, decided to ascend to serve the Windsinger rather than spend anymore wasted time with Adipocere.

Little is known about who he was before he joined, other than a petty thief, or even what he gets up to now that he lives in the chasm. There are rumours of course, stories of necromancy and cannibalism. The hatchlings of the lair would be picked on more than most, and so all sorts of stories about Adipocere being some sort of terrible villain circulated. It doesn't help any that his interests lay in the macabre, and he's always collecting things. Strange things, bits and pieces off the battlefield when he and the rest of The Huntsman's Trip go out to fight. His little trophies, he says. He also wears an amulet about his neck that strikes unease in the hearts of many of the lackadaisical wind dragons.

It should be well noted that it was only after he had got here that the mysterious spirit of that they call Hekate began to roam among them. The silent, silhouette of a dragon bound to shining ebony armor are what keep many mouths shut about who he is, why he is, and what he is.

At least when he's within visible earshot, naturally.
