Walking through the group of tents, you happen upon a sign pointing to one. It was hastily pushed into the ground, handwritten with a green marker, "Olivier's Store. Open." Looking up to the tent it was pointing at you see a patched-together tent. Obviously, it had holes that were fixed, stitched, and patched using fabric that didn't really match with the original color of the tent. It was a pretty large tent and upon walking in, you see tables set out with multiple bits and bobs laying over them. There seems to be some sort of organization, but how it's laid out is much more chaotic than it has to be. You're greeted by a voice. "Oh! Oh! Hello! I'm here! Give me a minute!" There was a clattering from behind the tent, and then a slithering Seafoam Coatl makes his way under the side and stands before you. He was average size, but his wings were small and... stitched and patched together. He sees you eyeing them, and tucks them behind his back further. "...So, you're here to look at my baubles, eh? Just have a look around and tell me when you're ready. Half of the treasure I gain goes towards helping our traveling clan. The other half, to me buying more things to sell." His tongue flicks out, and he begins to hum. He must be talking to himself as he waddles around his shop. As you inspect the items he has for sale, you catch brief glimpses of him. His Seafoam plumage was splotchy across his white feathers. It was beginning to be obvious why he was in a mixed-clan. If you recall, Coatls are proud of their feathers and colors. This one was splotchy, his feathers small and missing some. Does he have an illness...? Suddenly he's out of sight. You had spaced out thinking about it. His face pops right into view, his tongue flicking out and barely touching your nose. Instinctively, you hop backward from the jumpscare. "Sorry. It's just that... You were staring." He says, regarding you for a moment. "If you're that worried about something, just say it. There's no use in trying to hide fear. Doesn't make you stronger. I'm not contagious, and our Doctor isn't even sure if it is a disease." He then gives a smile after. Seems like he's had to say that more than just once. The rest of your time there was a normal shopping trip. Average. Just as Olivier wishes to be. |
