Lukas

Lukas was brought to Clan Kaitos by his uncle, Khalafin, as a gift from two friendly clans to help the new clan on its feet. As a hatchling, Lukas spent many happy days playing with Lissa, the fae daughter of the clan leaders, Arrenzo and Cyanthia. He watched as the clan grew, with the help of his uncle, and more young dragons joined them.

As Lukas grew older, his feelings for Lissa grew, and he was overjoyed to find that they were returned. The two nested, and had two beautiful daughters. Cyanthia helped them to care for their two young ones, although she soon had news. An ice clan had offered to take all the fae babies in the clan to be trained and sent as apprentices to the Icewarden, and Arrenzo had agreed. Reluctantly, Lukas agreed to give up his fae daughter, and his focus turned to his tundra daughter, Freyr, who looked just like him.

Lukas highly enjoyed being a father, but Lissa had found being a mother was not for her. Instead, she gave him her blessing to nest with other females, so long as he always returned to her. Lukas accepted this and went on to have many more children with various different females. However, he found himself to be unsatisfied, with little connection to the babies, so turned his focus back to Lissa and Freyr, deciding to never leave them again.

Just as he made this decision, a newcomer came to the clan, brought by Arrenzo. The sight of him filled Lukas with a sense of unease, and his uncle shared these feelings. He came to Lukas and told him the dreadful news. Arrenzo had replaced him as his confidant - with the dangerous wildclaw, Druan... And the clan was running out of space. Some dragons had to go... and Arrenzo's sights were set on his granddaughter.

Lukas, Lissa, Cyanthia and Khalafin all pleaded with Arrenzo to change his mind, but the Fae was determined. Freyr trained with Arrenzo and Druan, and came to Lukas with her decision. She wanted to meet the Arcanist and help him with his research. She was leaving and she wasn't going to listen to anyone else. Lukas was distraught, blaming Arrenzo for this. Khalafin made his decision. He was going to leave to serve the Arcanist with his great-niece. Lukas bade them goodbye, and vowed to never trust Arrenzo again.

Lukas did not speak to Arrenzo before the fae disappeared, although he saw Lissa and Cyanthia frequently. He became the clan's storyteller, known for his entertaining yarns. He liked to tell all sorts of stories - both of the clan's past and of stories of his own making. He was very popular with the rest of the clan, although it was advisable not to get him onto the topic of Arrenzo and his incompetence, for the tundra would happily go on for all eternity.

Since Arrenzo and Druan have disappeared, Lukas has stopped his storytelling. He sits up on his rock and stares at the sky, silently contemplating. Whenever Bramble, Lissa or Cyanthia try to speak with him, he listens politely, but doesn't say a word. No dragon has been able to get him to speak since, and the clan mourns the loss of its storyteller.
