There are rumours that she was borne of the Earthshaker himself: crafted from rock, held together with moss and set down to wander the plains until Clan Dryleaf took her in at the beginning of ceremony season.

Or perhaps she took in Clan Dryleaf.

The intensity of her wanderlust is unusual even to her Snapper brethren. Her clanmates do not see her often.

But the harvest is plentiful whenever she makes herself known. The soil is richer; the stone more pliable.

The clan hatchlings bombard her with questions. Can you really see sprites? Is it true you have been visiting Earthpapa?

Pebble laughs at their inquiries; a deep, throaty sound.

But she never denies it.
