______ When born, Salus found an interest in medicine and marveled in watching as his clan’s leader, Iso, would use magic to mend the flesh of their fighters. He was amazed to see how perfectly the flesh of his clanmates would come back together whole and without scars. Yet, as amazed as he was, he wanted to see if there were other ways to heal and mend others. This launched him into searching for books and tomes from those who had lived and died before dragon-kind. Clan Ragtag supported his research and many times the fighters would bring back fallen foes whose bodies could not be made of use. They also helped him contact other dragons who might have heard of this method of healing. He studied many days and nights, testing what he found on the dead bodies of the once shade-touched creatures. He had hoped that one day he could try his techniques on living dragons in need of this different type of healing. He got his wish sooner than expected.

______ One day, one of the clan’s fighters, Linu, had received a serious wound to her legs. Naturally, Iso began using her magic to mend the wounds but it rejected her magic and influence. Shocked, the clan had worried that Linu’s time would come to an end if she did not retrieve treatment. Iso’s son, JoJo, called upon Salus saying that the spirit claims that Salus’ skills were needed the most now. Salus had his clanmates carry Linu to a room that was made by Cawthorne, the clan’s head architect, and Dubauer, the clan’s magical gardener. This room would later become Clan Ragtag’s operating room. There, he had her laid down upon an operating table and everyone stepped back so that he could safely begin his work. His first operation was a success and Linu would happily recover in the next few weeks. Though the operation was not as clean-cut as he would have like, a few large scars would still be left on his clanmate and she would have a light limp, he had saved her life and discovered his passion. Salus now serves as Clan Ragtag’s resident plague doctor/surgeon, where he treats strange wounds and diseases. He hopes to continue to save many more dragons. He has also married Iso’s son, JoJo. They have their differences but they are very happy to be together.
