Klauth

Kalinza watched as the last of the beasts fell before her. She flexed her wings as she cast about for her next target. The clearing was eerily silent.
"Was that the last of them?" Jarvak asked; the small fae fluttered behind her in agitation.
Kalinza glanced over her shoulder at her charge. "I think so." She relaxed as the cooling magic of his healing spell swept over her.
"What is a raiding party doing so far out here?" Jorvak pondered.
Kalinza gestured at the bodies before her. "I don't know, help me check for clues." Kalinza strode across the clearing. She paused to wipe her bloody claws on the nearest beast's tunic.
Jorvak's gasp of surprise caused her to look up in alarm, but he was only peering in to one of the bags carried by the beastmen. "Kalinza, come, look at this!" His frills quivered in excitement.
She peered down into the open sack at the sickly light of the softly glowing orb within. "Is it supposed to look like that? What have they done?"
"It's from the plaguelands. It's a long journey, should we return it?"
Kalinza gently lifted the bag containing the egg into her arms and clutched it to her chest. "No, this child will be ours."
