Daisy Flowerfall Ighte was literally whacked by the wyrdy stick from birth, though the fact both her parents were called to serve the gladekeeper might have had something to do with it. she always finds the reasons for why! about everything, even if everyone else thinks her explanations can sometimes be utterly ludicrous.

Straton will never answer the question do you like her 'because' or 'despite' of her oddness.

Straton strides on to the cave leaving the white nocturne to decide, she stays where she is, as he enters the cave, her voice carries after him. I won't get wetter than wet.
He supposes she's right, but his woolen hat, will stink if it doesn't dry off quick enough. Damn his chill prone head. it's warm in the cave.
Straton is not surprised that the white nocturne isn't there when the rain passes.
and he heads back down the cliff-side. He'd seen her before, but he'd never gotten close enough to speak to her before. And he doubted he would again, he wished it had gone better, he liked meeting new people, he liked to talk, apparently she didn't.
