Biography
High Knight Devourer of Plains, or simply Dev to her friends, is the warrior leader of the Court. Her dedication to the well-being of her fellows is unquestionable, as is her ferocity and prowess. She is relatively young, but despite this, stands at the head of the Court. She is rather more rough and tumble than would be expected of a High Dragon, her humour vulgar and her manner of speaking colloquial. Despite her role, most of her time is spent brawling with her old comrades, much to the chagrin of her fellows.
She is the first High Knight in generations, and only the second female one in all recorded history. Most achieve the role of command in the Court through the paths of Lady or Lord, as the Knights serve the High Dragons and the members of the Court before themselves, and few ever attain power. Devour however, proved herself a prodigy at a young age.
She rose through the ranks of Knighthood, a smart and strong dragonling who was sure to do great things. Though she victor of many tournaments and battles, her true great victory was to lead a guard of only seven Knights to defeat an encroaching clan in a glorious battle that is frequently retold in Bard tales. She stood out as a prime candidate upon the untimely death of her predecessor, High Lord Vanquisher of Seas. Though she would have preferred to remain in her position as a Knight, the Court decreed that she would be their leader, and take Succumb, the hatchling of Vanquish's brother, as her mate and primary council.
Though she may appear blasé and even apathetic at times, she takes her position very seriously, and when not surrounded by her rough peers, she has shown herself to be an adept and skilled leader, capable of overseeing many projects and judging what may be beneficial. As a result the Court has prospered under her rule.
Devour is mated to Succumb, albeit for convenience. Despite the circumstances of their union, the two get along well, and enjoy a close friendship completely separate from their requirements as High Dragons. There is no real romantic love between them, rather more a close friendship.
