there wasn't much difference between this new home and his old one besides the dragons that reside in it. Rey didn't have to move very far to his new home, and he wasn't quite sure whether he was happy about that or not. He knew that his other siblings, who were adopted into new homes faster than he, had gone to other flights far away. a part of him wished he could have that kind of adventure instead of staying in the same ol' windy plateau.
nevertheless, the age of this lair was similarly awe striking. according to the leader of the lair, many of its oldest occupants had already gone to serve the Windsinger or to other homes, so most of them do not know of the tales of old. this is why he often hangs around Zayin, the oldest dragon in the lair and the one who was the original leader before the clan had gotten much larger and diverse. the stories he told were so fascinating!
but his energy could never tie him down there for long. he'd often play with the other young dragons in the lair - there were so many kinds of dragons here that he found himself learning something new with each dragon he visited within its boundaries. majority of them had a story to tell, and what great storytellers they were. he soon learned that a good number of them were used to spinning such tales for the young ones.
one of the first things he asked if the clan had a messenger like his dad in his birth lair. to his surprise, the messenger didn't look much like a wind dragon, but he was a skydancer. Without Dawn's consent, Rey became some sort of apprentice under him so that he too could eventually explore the other realms that Sornieth had to offer.
mischievous and high-spirited, Rey may come off as extremely friendly to some and irksome to others. He is one of the dragons that Silver now regularly races with amongst the harsher wind currents of the plateau, and so has developed a high level of skill in flight. The two had gotten to know each other while Rey was hanging around with Dawn, for the Nocturne liked pestering the courier dragon to races as well.
