The life-long friend of Lisa, Meyer also, curiously, has no recollection of his past beyond young-adulthood. But whereas Lisa wishes greatly to know what is missing, Meyer does not. In truth, he is frightened to know this. He is prone to terrible nightmares of death and loneliness, and he fears that they might be actualities from the time that he cannot remember.

In the Clan, Meyer plays the role of counselor, both to Lisa and to his fellow Clanmates, even though he tends to be rather skittish in times of struggle. But he means well, at least. He also acts as an aide to Lisa in her divining, despite not wanting to know his own past, mostly because of the great amount of respect that he has for his friend and leader. His loyalty to her—and for the Clan, in general—is strong, and one would find that he is willing to do most anything to protect her and her ideals.
