Biography

"I always marvel at the humans' ability to keep going. They always manage to stagger on even with the tears streaming down their faces."

The Beginning.
I hatched in a mid summer heat wave in the dept of the Plague territory. I never knew my parents. I was orphaned, alone. I did what every young Pearl Catcher does, I made my pearl. After so, I started wandering around where I hatched. It was scolding hot everywhere. I soon found a pool of water. Or so I thought it was water. When I approached the pool I soon found out it was blood. Every pool I found for the next two days was blood. No water, and I hadn't eaten since I hatched. I had given up all hope. I laid down in a soft grassy area. When I heard the foot steps coming I knew certain death was apon me. I just closed my eyes, to weak to run. I lay there until I heard his deep throaty voice. "Are you lost?" I gave a slight nod and managed to tell him I was orphaned. He growled slightly and I felt his jaws clamp around my neck. I grasped my pearl with every ounce of strength I had left, and I let this strange dragon take me away. I had no idea what lay ahead.
A Fixed Future.
The strange dragon who saved my life that day was named Blitz. He brought me to a secluded clan in the heart of the Rotrock Rim. I was feed, given clean water, and a mentor. I learned to live by the Plague rules, being taught by my mentor, I learned to fend for myself. As I got older I was ranked from hatchling to Hunter. I started to spend more and more time with the Imperial I knew as Pluto. He also reigned as my mentor. A few months after I became a hunter I dared to ask my mentor what my name was. He came to a dead stop in the trail. "You know the rules, outsider are told their names when clan leader says your ready." He turned to look at me, then turned back on the trail and continued forward. Desperate to know I questioned him. "Well when were you told your name?" He whipped me with his tail. "Silence yourself, we are out hunting. If you are so desperate to know answers, meet me by the oak tree on the hill." Rubbung my sore cheek I nodded and walked forward. "Tonight, before the first star forms in the sky."
Questions and Answers.
The sun was starting to set, the sky was blood red. It was beautiful. I grabbed my pearl and headed towards the hill with the tree. I must have gotten there early, because when I arrived it was dead silent. I waited for what felt like hours. It was almost to dark to see when the bushes cracked behind me. But the footsteps were not singular, there had to be two dragons. Pluto stepped out from the bushes, followed by our clan leader. I instantly dropped to my knees. "Up child, i'm here to give you what you asked. I rose to my feet and stood there in shock. "You had a few questions for me though." Pluto looked defeated, like he lost something important to him. "Yeah, I did actually." I gathered my thoughts and readied for the answers. "How did you get your name?" He looked at our leader then back at me. "I was born in the Arcane territory. My mother brought me here. Every night id look out at the farthest star and think of my family." Our leader took it from there. "I saw this action for what it was. I named him after that star, it also ties back to his original home." I nodded. "And when will I get my name?" Our leader hummed as if in confusion. "Tonight dearest, I have gathered background information and have a feel for this." Excited as I was, I knew getting my name would only mean one thing. I couldn't stay here anymore.
An Unfair Loss.
"Alright, tell me, what's my name?" I felt sad, I grew to love this place. The air, food, and the dragons I met here. Pluto stepped back, he knew. He knew this was going to happen. "I call upon my ancestors to bring forth a new light, this outsider demands to be named. If you, holy spirits feel the timing is not right, send forth the message!" The tension was so thick, I felt as though I couldn't breath. But she went on. "Then by the power of my being, and the approval of my Deity. She shall be called Bryn, for now and Forever!" She rested her chin on my snout. "I must go back to the clan now, Pluto stay here and bid farewells, your leaving in the morning." She turned and looked at us. "Also, tell her what her name means and why it was given." She flew towards home, or her home. I don't belong there anymore.
***
"Do you want to know what your name means?" I did, but I had one more question. "Yeah, but first, where are you going tomorrow? I.. I have so many questions, so much I want to tell you.." He rested his hand on my shoulder. "Plague Bringer needs me, i'm going to fight the Beastclans. After tonight your never going to see me again." The tears welled up in my eyes. "You can't go!" He turned away slightly. I continued on, hoping I could get him to stay. "Your the only dragon I care about, your just going to leave!?" He raised his hand. "Look I know what your trying to do. It's not going to work. I'm leaving and I can't change my decision now." A single tear rolled down my cheek. "I need to go now.." He started to walk towards camp. "Wait!" I wanted him to look at me one last time. I wanted to see his face one last time. "You never told me what my name means." He walked back towards me but stopped a few meters away. "Your name, it means 'Hill' You hatched on Red hill, and I suggested here because I knew you would never forget this night." "Oak hill." I whispered aloud. I looked at my pearl, but when I looked up he was gone. I curled up into a ball under the oak tree and cried. My life was about to change forever.
