As any Guardian, Bartholomew embarked on his Search as a young dragon. There was one thing, though, that set him apart significantly. Shortly after beginning his journey, a prophecy came to him, delivered by a seer he met along the way. She told him the name of his charge and instilled in him that he had to wait for her and only her and he mustn't choose any other.

Few would have heeded this prophecy in the first place, but Bartholomew, whose mentor had exhibited her own fair share of clairvoyance, never questioned the significance of what he had been tasked with.

Centuries passed and Bartholomew came to understand the importance of the Search more with each passing day. He wondered how old a Guardian could become, he wondered how old and lonely he'd grow before he finally found her...

These days, he's known as the Ancient One, a nick name this riff-raff clan had lovingly bestowed upon him one wild night around the camp fires. Well, it beat "gramps" by miles. And really, he woulnd't have it any other way.
