Beau
Founder

Many clan founders have the same range of purposes for beginning anew; power, prestige, fortune... But for Beau, the answer is simple. His old clan had too many restrictions on courtship!

Simply looking at another with the slightest hint of romantic affection prompted a lengthy lecture from a clan elder. Beau had to jump through hoops to prove his love and earn his right to bear hatchlings. "Your colors clash too much, your children would be gaudy!", "He's far too busy with hunting to have a relationship. Please move on.", "My daughter will only settle for a future lord. Come back when you have a fortune and maybe then you could see her." These were only a few of the pieces of the many speeches he received when a dragon piqued his interest.

Having a secret love hadn't worked either. Going against the wishes of the elder resulted in punishments. Usually involving holding heavy boulders or buckets full of water. Eventually, Beau was barred from seeing most of the clans young gentlemen and ladies. The atmosphere was too heavy, and so was his heart, so Beau left to create a place where he could love freely.

He found a lovely space within the Arcane land, and met Stelle. Immediately taken with her dominant and mysterious personality, the young lover offered her his company, which she accepted. Stelle was also searching for a new place to call home. Beau also offered his heart on multiple occasions, but the two were often on and off. Beau had never met someone so authoritative or strong, and Stelle loved how Beau could make her laugh, or how thoughtful he could be. However, he often fooled around, and she was far too busy leading the growing clan to keep interest in him for long term besides having the occasional nest together.

Beau's tendency to have romantic relationships overlapping with others was the cause of numerous fights and arguments among members of the growing clan. It never occurs (and sometimes it seems it never will) to Beau that perhaps keeping multiple mates at a time was too much of an emotional strain on other dragons. So when Stelle scolds him after she yet again has to break up another scuffle, he never understands why dragons are fighting over him. But do not get the wrong idea, he is a very attentive and tender lover, showering his loves with gifts and affection.

Beau's role in his clan is questionable. No one ever asks why he's here, but some do wonder what exactly he does. He does a terrific job at expanding the clan, whether it's finding new dragons to recruit, or fathering hatchlings. Beyond that, the only things he does are chores that Stelle gives him, such as gathering and running the occasional message, and being a nice warm body to sleep up againist. The founder lives in his own den, decorated in all matter of pink trinkets, flowers, and gifts from others. His bed is a pile of Streak feathers, with a soft pink silk cover draped over it for comfort. Many a clan member are jealous of it. Any dragon is welcome to take refuge in there. In fact, Thanatos appeared out of almost no where, and decided that the ceiling was a good enough place to call home. Beau isn't complaining though, he finds the nocturne adorable. He will let Thanatos hang from his wings, or sit upon his back while the larger one crafts.
