- A loyal friend and mentor to all of the dragons in the clan. There is not a single member of Aeolia who does not enjoy the company and medicine of this elder.
- The eldest friend of both AkaiRyuu and Coleus; he often enjoys tea with the former.
- Is a mentor figure of sorts to Aki
- Is the only person that is relatively close to Jakov
- Was the first to see and name Pneuma


Notes:
- Kai is one of the first dragons to have joined Aeolia.
- As called by his Master and by the long lineage of Masters before him, Kai too was brought up in the art and study of traditional herbalism. Raised deep in the jungles of The Viridian Labyrinth, Kai trained in the practice of medicine through plants and herbs. While most of the younger dragons in his clan lived a life free of duty, Kai lived in isolation, with only the Masters to instruct him as he studied the scrolls and herbs. It was not the ideal childhood one would desire, but it was a childhood that was greatly honored. When his Master deemed him worthy to continue his studies in further regions, it was with a humble departing that Kai left all that he knew, for something completely beyond his comprehension.

- Decades passed and his knowledge grew. His practice as a herbalist became refined and his collection of medicine continued to expand with each new finding. However, with each triumph, came a trial, and eventually the weight of his knowledge (physically in the form of scrolls, mentally in the form of study) became too much. Wearied by age and by the world he came to knew, Kai found refuge in the hills and cliffs of The Windswept Plateau. It was here, during this time, that Coleus stumbled upon him sitting peacefully by a river, not too far from the newly founded clan of Aeolia. With the promise of good rest and access to any resources he wished to make his own, Kai settled in the clan and never left.

-Being one of the oldest dragons in the clan, Kai has always been a dragon of traditions. His value for wisdom is considerably great and--beyond herbalism--he has dedicated years upon years studying the ancient techniques of the Elder Dragons. He is easily regarded as the wisest dragon in the clan and is well known for his traditional tea and herbal remedies.
- He speaks slowly and placidly, making sure to pronounce each syllable with careful patience. It also isn't uncommon for Kai to spout a parable or two when conversing with others

- If Kai is not cooped up in his den perusing through his grand collection of scrolls and books, he can often be found on the outskirts of the territory or in his personal garden searching for and tending to his herbs/plants.
- Although Kai is highly respected amongst the clan, some still question how reliable his advice is as they believe his old age has worn him down to be a very "go with the flow" type of dragon. In all actuality however, this is really just a tactic he uses to keep people from inquiring too much of things "they rather shouldn't know about"

- As his familiar is the exact opposite of himself, he ironically named the Gale Wolf, Hitoshi, which means "even-tempered" in Japanese.
