Pain Absorber
Euthami knew pain from an early age, far earlier than anyone should ever have to.

She never responded to outside physical stimuli much. Falling, scraping her legs, bumping into things; none of these illicited a response from her. Her parents worried that there was something seriously wrong. Euthami didn't seem to notice things that hurt her and they worried constantly over her injuries, possibly hovering over her too much in her infancy.

It wasn't until she touched someone else in pain that the problem was identified.

She couldn't feel pain unless it was the pain of others. Not only that, but when she felt someone else's pain, their pain ceased. Euthami could take the pain of others for herself and spare them.

It happened upon physical contact and only seemed to apply to physical pains, but not things like depression or anxiety. Her parents were at a loss for what to do. Her mom, an oracle, and her father, a dreamweaver, had quite a bit of experience with a variety of magics, but had no idea how to go about developing a power like this or even if they should try. They couldn't bear to see their daughter in pain.

Euthami, upon discovering this ability, felt a joy like never before. She had always felt inadequate compared to her siblings, who seemed to have wondrous and amazing abilities, while all she did was not feel pain growing up. Now that she had a purpose, there was nothing that would stop her. She wanted to help healers and take the pains of others so that they could heal in more peace.

She did not consider the toll this might have on her in the future. All she wanted was to feel helpful and useful.
