"If you pine for oblivion so, who am I to deny you? In fact... I'll help you along!" - Danthe.

plaguev1.png Danthe is Inightlin's doppelganger born of Plague. Her life started with Inightlin's death, on the fateful day when the sorceress was struck down in battle, collapsing into a bloody heap.

BEN was the one fighting at her side when it happened, and he knew he had to act fast or her soul would be lost forever. Using Deku Nuts, he stunned the attacking dragons and rushed to Inightlin's side, quickly assessing the damage and lamenting the lack of healing fairies in Sornieth... Then he decided to improvise, playing the Elegy of Emptiness on his ocarina.

When the melody came to its end, the magic took hold of the Skydancer's body and turned it into a ghostly shell, the inside hollow yet filled at the same time. Filled by a second body, one that bolted up with a gasp of pain.

The song had just enough effect to reawaken Inightlin from her death, though the remaining wound threatened to pull her back under before long. As BEN helped her out of the shell that turned into a statue- into a warped, unmoving doppelgänger- he knew he'd have to fight fast.

So, he leapt back into the fray, dealing a savage blow to the first one of their attackers to recover from the shock the Deku Nuts had dealt. One of the others grabbed him from behind, but before he could destabilize and strike back, someone else did it for him, their claws cutting deep into attacker's back.

The ghostly Coatl turned to look to the newcomer, eyes widening in shock as he realized... It was the "statue" created by the Elegy of Emptiness. And just like Inightlin would, it was fighting to survive, swift and ruthless as it grappled with the dragon that killed its- well, killed its other half.

BEN was dazed and confused, but quickly shook it off and joined in the fight once more, helping the echo take down the last two of their assailants. But where Inightlin would stop at their retreat, the echo kept going, killing the two dragons and almost chasing after the third if not for BEN yelling at it,

"Stop, he's not worth it!"

Right away, the echo turned on him, fangs bared and bloody claws splayed threateningly. BEN realized that it wasn't a creature who knew mercy- it wanted violence. It wanted to spill blood. And now it was going to spill his blood.

Without hesitation, he struck it with a Deku Nut and equipped the Ocarina of Time, quickly bringing it to his mouth and beginning to play the only song that could soothe the mind of this savage beast. The Song of Healing.

Before the song had even ended, the echo was already soothed, snarl faded into a faint frown and eyes softened from their furious glare of before. Once BEN finished playing, he and the echo worked together to get Inightlin back to Tellatale, where Cupid was able to heal her injury and restore the blood she'd lost. While the sorceress rested with Phantom and company, BEN followed her echo out to the mouth of the cave.

It hadn't spoken a word all this time, yet he still knew just where its mind was at. "You want to go back to the Wasteland, don't you?"

It nodded, green eyes fixed on the horizon. BEN let out a soft breath and murmured, "Then you should go. If that's where your heart is, we won't stop you. Inightlin and I may have given you life, in a way, but that doesn't mean we have a right to control that life."

The echo looked to BEN, scrutinizing his expression but finding no lie in the ghost's eyes. So, it strode out the mouth of the cave, spreading its wings wide and readying itself to take flight into the dark, storming night.

Just before flying away, she uttered one simple statement, "I'll come back."
---

During her time in the Scarred Wasteland, Inightlin's echo sought to learn what it was to be alive and have an identity. She learned to fight with a sword and Plague magic, becoming a mercenary when her skill was good enough to get the job done.

It was in the thrill of battle that she discovered who she was. A fighter, a survivor, someone who relished in the feeling of blood on her claws and someone who could never get enough of the satisfaction from victory. Fighting for her life, realizing just how her mortality hung in the balance? It didn't terrify her. It excited her.

By the month's end, she was known as one of the most bloodthirsty mercs in the Scarred Wasteland, possibly even in Sornieth. And it was then that she decided it was time to return to her allies' sides.

She returned to Clan Tellatale a completely different dragon than the one they'd briefly known, decorated in the bones of her prey and bearing a crimson-hilted broadswoard. Most importantly, however, she came bearing a name.

Reuniting with Inightlin and BEN, for the first time ever she introduced herself as Danthe, the dragon born from death.
