Role: practical archaeologist/aesthetic snob
Likes: sunning himself, collecting pottery shards, afternoon tea
Dislikes: deep forests, Zante, loud colors, fighting

History: Sado was born crystalline and shining but faded with age to become the plainest of his parents' children. With his faceted scales he shed the glittering aesthetic of his native flight and began to look for wisdom and beauty in plainer and lower places, in ruins and rust and broken pots.
In his excavations at the Lightbringer's Ruins, Sado found Second Age paraphernalia related to a human ritual known as "tea". Intrigued by the vast array of cups, pots, and utensils related to this pervasive habit of consummption, he has come to the Viridian Labyrinth seeking the plant at the heart of the ritual. His research assistant is a golem unearthed in the ruins of Dragonhome.

Relationships: Zante and Tsuyu avoid him for reasons that none of the others can understand, although at night they can be heard whispering about the risk of "Emperors". For his part he disdains Zante immensely, seeing her as a failure of Light's virtues and a coward for fleeing the Lightbringer's hosts. He works with Izhuatl, who is familiar with all the plants of the forest. Only Inei, Shinju, and Fukurou willingly partake of his herbal concoctions: the others cannot detect the subtle aromas and spurn them as too bitter. He remains unaware of how taken with him Shibusa is.
