Biography
SPIRIT - Fortune Teller
If Spirit's head wasn't attached, he'd lose it in a heartbeat.
All the clan knows this, since Spirit doesn't exactly try to hide it. There's not a single dragon who doesn't know that their resident fortune teller can see far in the future, but forgets where he's put his dinner while he's wandered off to find something to drink. They love him all the same, though, because if there's anyone in the clan who knows how to live life to the fullest, it's him.
He's always been on the lackadaisical side, always scatterbrained and never bothered. There's no need to rush, he believes, and there's no need to live like he believes otherwise. As a result, he spent much of his early life as an outcast. Born to the Shifting Expanse and two hearty coal miners, his attitude was in sharp conflict with the hardworking code of the Lightning Flight as a whole. As soon as he was able to, he wandered away from that place, fully aware it would never work for him to live there, and not terribly upset that he had to leave. Maybe his parents were disappointed, yes, but they also knew he'd never survive working day in and day out like the Stormcatcher demanded. That was that. C'est la vie.
So he wandered, going wherever he liked. He gained quite the entourage in this way, not of dragons, but of all the little creatures of Sornieth that flocked to his side, sucked in by his easy-going manner. He was so easy to trust, so pleasant to be around, and he always had a thought to spare for anyone with him, even if that thought was a scattered thought, unrelated to his last one. Maybe that was how he picked up his favorite familiar, a thoughtful Baku. The clan is convinced that Spirit's Baku is attached out of concern, making sure Spirit never (or at least less frequently) forgets to eat and sleep when he's in the heat of an exciting moment. With the Baku, it would be up to someone else to remind Spirit that he is a mortal, and a hungry and tired mortal at that.
Plus, it was probably the Baku that led Spirit to the clan, plus a healthy dash of luck. They all came together while traveling, and Spirit was irresistible. He integrated seamlessly, his great cheer earning him great favor, and with his Baku's help, he made himself useful, telling fortunes by crossing to the ethereal plane. It is his work that helps fund the clan's travels, when he remembers to do it.
When he isn't telling fortunes or sleeping away, he can be found with Unicorn, his best friend, or with Koirin, his crush he refuses to admit to even though everyone else can see it. But he forgets that he's not good at hiding his emotions. He forgets a lot of things, really.
