Born in the eternal night of the Hewn City, Uttara comes from a somber heritage. The Bone Court undertakers view their duties with the utmost gravity and sincerity, and are respected for it.

Bone Court children will always be welcome back in their home, and their clans treated with respect.

Born of royal blood, a fated nesting between the monarchs of the Bone Court, Uttara was born with a great destiny, or so her mother has told the girls time and time again.

Most Court children leave as soon as they are able, taken to new homes where they can serve their clan as caretaker of the dead, or setting out on their own when they reach adulthood. These royal sisters stayed, being taught their parents' legacy and trade with great care, and receiving tutelage on what is necessary and expected of leaders. For it is not just the passing heritage of the Bone Court that these two carry with them, they are the blood of the Bone Court, royal princesses who stand to inherit the throne and Uttara of a dead empire.

Uttara shares her parents' ability to move the dead, controlling their corpses like puppets. Moreso, the Court has found that Uttara gains power in death, receiving strength or aquiring power from each passing around her. She can steal energy from corpses, or use them as vessels of her excess magic. In the midst of a battle, each fallen foe or friend can add to her immensive power til even she wavers in control. All the Court has drilled into her the importance of responsibility and balance in Sornieth, lest she overuse her Gift.
