ABOUT Unlike many others of her species, Ophelia has no desire to engage in combat; for a Wildclaw she's rather small, and she lacks experience in fighting. Instead, she enjoys studying magic. Ophelia puts her knowledge to use as the clan's potion brewer. BACKSTORY Born and raised in the Starfall Isles, Ophelia, like many other Arcane dragons, took a great interest in the magical arts. She studied intently and practiced her magic often. But the young dragon still thirsted for knowledge; she believed she could learn more if she travelled to the other regions of Sornieth. Not long after reaching adulthood, she set out. Eventually, Ophelia's curiosity brought her to the Viridian Labyrinth, where she encountered the indigenous Wildclaws. She tried to befriend them, but had little understanding of their warrior-like society; the small, studious Wildclaw was a misfit amidst their ranks. Although they permitted her to stay with them, Ophelia felt like an outsider among her own kind. She remained there for a while to continue her studies, but it wasn't long before she wished to leave. However, the day she planned to resume her travels, a band of rival Wildclaws from the Scarred Wasteland attacked. The native Wildclaws stood their ground; Ophelia, however, ran away when confronted by the enemy. Her assailant chased after her, taunting her for her cowardice. The hapless little dragon ran as fast as her legs would carry her, but her pursuer was stronger and quickly gained ground. Her frantic sprint was cut short as she lost her footing, tripping over the undergrowth. She anticipated her foe's strike...but it never came. Instead, the other Wildclaw suddenly cried out. Ophelia pushed herself up and turned in the direction of the sound. Before her was a large Imperial with glistening, orange-red scales; the other Wildclaw was pinned underneath his front half, struggling wildly. After a moment, he let the other dragon up, stepping between it and Ophelia; he then gave a menacing roar. It seemed to weigh its options for a moment, then skittered away; the Imperial was much larger, and it had already received a taste of his strength. Ophelia learned that her rescuer's name was Topaz. Still frightened from her ordeal, she tagged along with him; Cypris and the others were glad to let her stay at their lair. In the following days, she became fast friends with Topaz. However, she still wished to continue her journey. When she told her new friend this, he was greatly alarmed by the idea of her traveling alone. She knew his worries weren't without reason, either. He proposed that she stay, making this her home; but, if she ever wanted to take trips to the other regions of Sornieth, he would accompany her. Ophelia gladly agreed to this arrangement, becoming a permanent member of the clan.
