Augustus is a talkative Imperial. His clanmates tolerate it, but he knows they're usually fighting the urge to smack him to make him shut up. At least Trinna lets him talk. Trinna's nice. And funny. Sometimes. Augustus can be overly cheery, but it's not much more than an act. He wants to talk to other dragons, but if he doesn't have anything funny to say, then he'll have to talk about sad stuff, and no one likes that, and then there'll be an awkward silence, and he'll have to talk even more to fill up the silence, and then they'll tell him to go away. Augustus doesn't want to be told to go away.

Despite his chatty and scatterbrained nature, Augustus makes good potions. Love potions? Got 'em. Luck potions? Can do. Transfiguration potions? Bad idea, but it's possible. Sleep potions? Sure, but you're gonna have to ask Hes first. Wouldn't want anyone going against the doctor's orders. Augustus can even make some health potions on a good day. If Hes' herbal remedies and scorching glares don't work on a patient, they're sent to Augustus with instructions on what potion to get. There's a chance the healer resents him a bit for being able to cure things Hes can't, but that's the way it works.

Whenever Trinna gave him a prediction, she ended up slipping something about love in there. He thought that she was trying to set him up with Morgana. Not happening. Augustus often wanted to find a potion to make her be quiet, but that potion would probably end up being used on him. Figures. After a while, Augustus realized that the hints that Trinna was dropping were about her, not Morgana. He also realized that he did like Trinna quite a lot. Eventually, they became mates.
