Lost and alone the little Nocturne wondered aimlessly across the Emberglow Hearth in search of anyone or anything she might recognize. She heard noises and it sounded like other hatch-lings laughing close by, so she went to investigate, maybe she had found her family and clan. As she neared she heard unfamiliar voices, so she stayed in the dark so not to be seen. Then she seen the adult. She looked kind and she was playing in the dark. Nitestar thought this unusual. As she watched, one of the hatch-ling ran towards her and she flattened herself to the ground, but she had been seen. Then the yelling started and the adult was moving towards her, more came out of the lair. At that moment she really wanted her Mom! "Awe, you are so little." the adult said looking down at her and smiling. "Tesla, is everything ok out here?" A large green dragon was walking out of the lair now, along with other large dragons. "We have a visitor Mya and she is alone!?" Mya looked down and could just barely see the small Nocturne on the ground. "Do you have a name little one?" "Nitestar" "Well Nitestar, we are going to take care of you tonight and we will see if we can find your family...ok?" Nitestar nodded her head and smiled up at the green dragon. Bring her inside and take her to the nests, also get her some food, she most be starving. Mya turned and looked at the others who had came out with her. "See what you can find, she didn't get out here alone!!!" Patrols were sent out but no-one had anything to report. Mya went to Nitestar and layed as low to the ground as she could to talk to her face to face. "We searched for your family little one but could not find anything or anyone that might tell us where you came from. You can stay with us until you decide you want to leave. Does that sound ok to you?" Nitestar nodded her head. Mya stood and smiled, then looked down at the small Nocturne. "We are called "The Awakened" and you are now a member of this clan." Nitestar was two weeks old when her body started changing. She flew to Tesla for answers. "You are growing and with that comes the gift of change!" Tesla smiled down at her. "Though I can't say I've seen that pattern on many dragons!? There is only one other in our clan that has it." Tesla had became very fond of Nitestar over the month that Nitestar had been with The Awaken, so much so that when she came acrossed a rare familiar she gave it as a gift to show her affection. Nitestar loved it. |
