After being left behind by his father his mother brought him up alone.
Whirlwind had been appointed as leader of the clan, he had hoped things would't go as insane as the old rule had.
Unfortunately he was blasted by a magic from Minerva and was transformed into an ancient breed of dragon. A Gaolar. Him and Esma have been acting different feeling more drawn to each other than their own mates. This has caused their mates to feel betrayed.
The clan has been talking of having Whirlwind step down from the leadership rule in favor of a younger dragon.
Whatever happens lets just not let Kin lead...that would be a mistake.
