Moore and his band of Wildclaws were originally only meant to pass through Nocturne's colony, on an annual pilgrimage through the different Flight territories when they were caught exploring the Plague region with an unhatched egg in their midst. They asked Nocturne for refuge when the Wyrmwound was worse than they'd originally planned for, and while they were waiting to regroup, the egg hatched.

Initially a kind and generous host, Nocturne became suddenly possessive, and wouldn't allow the group to leave with the hatchling. When Moore contested this, they got into a fight- one that Moore ultimately lost due to Trauriges intervening. Imprisoned in ice Nocturne's lair, the rest of his family was sacrificed to the Plaguebringer unbeknownst to him. Moore still believes that Dagna and Demyrie were able to escape Nocturne's imprisonment, and hopes that they will one day return to rescue him and his son.
