Shard

Born in the far reaches of the arcane territory Shard entered this world a protector. From a hatchling he was always one to stand up and fight for those who could not do so for themselves. A fine quality indeed until it gets you banned from your clan. Later on down the road a horrible mirror took over as the clan leader, he endangered so many of Shards friends, claiming they deserved their misfortunes for being weak. Shard would not stand for this, he challenged the mirror to a fight for alpha. Of course the mirror didnt play fair, and the imperial lost. As recompense, the mirror ordered Shard's family to be slaughtered.

The knowledge that he had failed to protect those he cared about caused Shard to fall into a deep depression. He left the clan and wandered around, hoping to find himself. After a few years of searching Shard realised that his failure did not mean that he could not try again. That he could not do better.

In the shadow territory he found a hollow. The perfect place for a clan. It was then that he chose to correct his failures, to learn from his past. To be better than who he was.

He began finding misfits, lost and homeless dragons, dragons in search of a place to belong. Once found, he'd offer them a home under his wing. Those that agreed became like family, and since then Shard has never once failed to protect a member of his clan. He goes out of his way to make sure they know that they are his family, no matter where they came from.
