Sithis always resembled his father. Despite being born in the Sunbeam Ruins, he always considered Shadow his true birthflight. Even after his father fled the clan without him, Sithis refused to let go of his darker identity. While he was never very close to the rest of the clan to begin with, he decided to cut his bonds with them completely.

With his father gone, he channeled his time into a forbidden subject: the Shade. At first it was nothing but a hobby, something to keep his mind occupied. Then the Shade started calling for him. At first he assumed it was the Hewn City's lost spirits playing tricks on him, but when the whispers got progressively louder and more real, he decided it was time to try something more ambitious.

Sithis started conducting tests - on simple plants first, small creatures soon after. Then one night he did something unthinkable; he cast one of his more potent hexes on another dragon. It didn't seem to do much at first, but as time went by, changes started taking place on the poor Imperial. She started spending more and more time in the shadows of the Hewn City, likely blinded by the direct sunlight that was plentiful elsewhere.
