After leaving his previous clan to avoid having her child getting hurt and escape the former tyran that lead it, Dusk became awfully overprotective towards her, to the point that he constantly drives away whoever even thinks to be her mate.
Which is kind of hypocritical, considering how much of a flirt he is.
Despite his constant vigilance and the fact that Rey keeps scolding him for his casual lazyness, between the two there's a very strong bond, and everyone knows he wouldn't hesitate a second to get himself hurt to protect her children - or literally anyone.
He became pretty much a weird granpa for the team, who every once in a while (fails to) drop some wisdom and give tips nobody truly follow.
