Biography
please send back to Deladria rather than exalting
Unlike many dragons, who leave home as hatchlings, Bluemoonth was a fully-grown adult before he struck out on his own. Even so, he was ill-prepared. He encountered more dragons than he had ever seen preparing to war, and was very nearly roped in! "This isn't my battle!" he thought. He'd made no promises; he slipped away in the night, under a cloudy sky. But he didn't travel far. He'd overheard the warriors more than once talk about The Four Winds Bar, an establishment famed on the Windswept Plateau, and wanted to check it out. It was said to be a welcoming place, as well a source of good eats and better drinks. More to the point, it was not costly, at a time when his funds were low! The owner himself was usually behind the counter.... as proved to be the case that day. Bocoth immediately had him at ease, and before he knew it, Bluemoonth was telling his story and asking for advice. That led him to join WindSky Weyr, where he would patrol the skies at night, in exchange for a place at the communal table. He thought it was a great arrangement - that Amharath could really cook!
He grew comfortable and figured he could settle in and raise a family here. He had a particular dragon in mind he wanted to court; however, although Sky seemed to like him, they worked opposite shifts, and beyond some too-brief (in his opinion) conversations in passing, they never seemed to find time to get together. It made him feel lonely, and eventually he realized he was homesick. Perhaps he would take a break and go back for a visit. No doubt things would feel different there after his new experiences, but whether that would be good or bad remained to be seen. Who knows, maybe he'd even stay!
Once he'd made up his mind, it didn't take long for Bluemoonth to wrap up his affairs, and having done so he felt curiously liberated. He was much better prepared for this trip; in fact, he thought he might see a few more sights on the way, no rush, maybe spend a week en route. No one was expecting him, after all... though he did wonder how his parents would react, assuming they were still there.
