Biography

"Art is like the waves. It flows and it can be rough or smooth or capped with white or bright blue or dark gray and teeming with life no matter the exterior. Also it can make things a mess. Like my art does sometimes. And like I am, in general."

He likes to paint and paints everywhere, often all over other people's personal hoards. They call it carelessness, he calls it boundless artistic passion. And a lot of clumsiness. He paints with his tail most of all, finding paintbrushes overrated and too mainstream. He'll splatter paint around with his tail and sometimes even with his wings, all over a canvas and someone's lunch. His heart's in the right place though. Even if he claims he literally does not have one. This isn't to say of course that Courbet doesn't make a ton of messes to the point of being a local disaster-maker. Because he does. Courbet often communicates in art as well, spending an entire hour on a paper maché tourniquet to thank someone for their kindness to him. Even though dragons can't use tourniquets and a paper maché tourniquet makes absolutely zero sense. Come on, dude.

He studies various forms of art, and takes much of his inspiration from the darkness-cloaked city in which he lives. He believes painting in the dark has its benefits, as it removes the barrier of seeing one's own art while it is still a work in progress and growing distraught from it. The only issue is he can't really see when he's painting or sculpting so some of his art looks a little more...interpretive. Regardless, it's clear he is dedicated to his craft and studying the source of his inspiration.
