Angelos

Angelos is a seer, gifted with visions of the future. Soft-spoken and gentle-hearted, one might never guess that what spilled from the egg the tides washed ashore was a Mirror dragon upon hatching. There in his broken shell he sat, while the waters lapped at his feet, and while the sun warmed his hide, blinking and chirruping to himself. As night fell and the shadows covered the land, still the little hatchling sat there, gazing at the stars. He was not the only thing washed ashore, though, and a faint gleam drew his attention. A glowing crystal, filled with unknowable magics, had come to that place in a broken wooden box that had floated until it reached the beach.

The little one took the crystal, curled around it, and slept. While he slept, strange things filtered through his young mind, voices and sights of mysterious kinds. He changed, while he slept, little by little, and when he woke he looked entirely different, and felt the touch of fate upon him. The crystal had crumbled into glittering dust, which he consumed along with his eggshell, creating a pearl whose core contained the magic that had shaped him and granted him a calling.

Into the woods he walked, following his visions, until he found the place he knew would be his home. There, Clan Laegjarn found him and took him in, soon realising what a strange and wonderful treasure they had found.

He does not seem entirely physical, as though his spirit shines through and illuminates him, and those who have met him sense swiftly that here is one who is gods-touched. Whatever destiny holds for him, whatever future he has seen, he will meet it with the kindness and serenity that make him who he is.
