Bluetongue knew she wanted to learn how to shape and bend metal when she first saw a true Coatl artisan work their magic at creating a sword. The sword wasn't special by any means, just another to be used in battle, but the glowing amber of the molten steel, the rhythmic hits that were drowned out by the roaring furnace, coupled with the sparks and squeaking from the finished product grinding against stone truly gave her a goal in life to strive for. She did not wish to battle, nor forage, nor sing, but creating a tool from a useless lump of metal ignited the fire in her that she did not know existed.

"You, a Banescale, smith? Don't you know you need arms to do that?"

"Are you going to hold the hammer with your mouth? You can't be a blacksmith."

Comments like those were numerous throughout her training as an apprentice for the Coatl, but she remained undeterred. The hiss of the steam as the blade was plunged into cold water, the refining of it to bring it to its full glory- Bluetongue loved it all.
