Like a diamond in the sky
Adler delights in the beauty of the mineral world. Glittering gems and crystals are her favorite, but she also appreciates the simple beauty of an interestingly-shaped-rock or piece of petrified wood. She travels the world looking for attractive stones, leading to dark rumours of a side business as a jewel-thief and cat burglar.
Initially, Adler merely collected these treasures for her own enjoyment, until her small den was overflowing with all manner of stones and gems. When her clanmates discovered her breaking into their dens to deposit her parts of her hoard "just until I find it a permanent home", they put their collective foot down and insisted that she do SOMETHING before they were forced to set up their own pile next to Pinkerton. Almer came to her rescue by suggesting that she combine her keen eye for gems with his metalworking prowess to create jewelry. By selling, trading, and simply giving away the finished product, Adler has been able to reduce her stash a bit (but not too much, since she usually trades the jewelry for more gems). Best of all, she can still admire the precious stones in their new settings, as their proud owners often come back to request more pieces. |
