Being the second oldest and not being in line for clan leadership he doesn't have as much stress as his sister but his father is still just as tough on him and constantly exploits his talent for magic.

Before the plague clan and the ice clan were brought together he had a romance with a dragon named Sarcel who he was duped into murdering by his father. Jack used his magic against him. When Sarcel died the clan wars broke out and his father took siege of the ice lair while leaving his son with the trauma of losing a mate and having murdered a fellow dragon. He turned his anger outwards and hopes to someday repent for the crime he was tricked into committing.

Nowadays he's hardly taken seriously by others in the clan and is blamed for starting the clan wars that lead to many innocent dragons being lost. When he tries to get people to listen to him he's nearly automatically brushed off because he's deemed as emotionally compromised due to how badly he handles his trauma.
