Lore: Sometimes, during the nights when the moon shines from Sornieth, hatchlings that look a little different from a standard Lunarlit will be born. Unlike their brighter relatives, these Nameless hatchlings (so called because it is Lunarlit custom to leave them unnamed), their wings and hides are as dark as the nights they hatch on, and they are born bearing the the thin scars that Lunarlit accumulate with age. Despite their pitch black colouring, the light's blessing is still reflected in their luminous underbellies, and leaves a distinctive patterning on their bodies. Though every bit as fragile as their relatives, they are given gifts of a more magical nature. Nameless dragons tend to be solemn and are almost always drawn to a higher calling, in contrast to the jovial Lunarlit. Since the first of the Nameless, these dragons have been very particular with names, seeing it as a vital part of self-identity, and only accepting those they give themselves, or receive from a peer of high esteem. They often wander off on an enigmatic, solitary journey, seeking their name and purpose in life.
