Astrea was found as a child on the steps which lead from the Shadow Domain to the Light Domain. Curled beside her was Macabre, who hissed as fiercely as a coatl baby could at Amethyst, who'd discovered them. While Macabre was defensive, Astrea had dreamed they'd be rescued, and immediately climbed into Amethyst's bags. When she arrived at the kinship, she took instantly to Mirra as her guardian, helping Macabre follow suit.
Astrea has grown to be a great advisor for the Kinship. Of course, the future is never set in stone, so she tells us of the most likely possibilities. Her predictions tend to show the best outcomes, which can be a welcome change compared to our other seers. Her pearl serves as her conduit for making predictions, and is built layers representing predictions she's made for others that have come true. The births, adoptions, accomplishments, and love of the clan is told within it's layers. As such it is precious to the whole kinship, not just our beloved pearlcatcher.
Beyond her visions, Astrea is actually blind and struggles to walk. She uses braces on her legs to ease her movements. Laughter and her fairies serves as her guides. Macabre, despite being shorter than her, is often at her side, letting her lean on him for support. He always asks her how his missions might turn out, and uses her predictions to guide his decisions.
