Greetings! My name is Leila and I hail from the shadowy region of the Tangled Wood. I have come in search of a new clan. A clan where eccentrics like me are accepted. You're curious to know why I'm eccentric? Well, allow me to spin you a little tale about myself.
As mentioned before, I was born in a Shadow clan. Life for me there hadn't been so great because I wasn't an ordinary dragon. No, from the moment I was born, all my others siblings stayed away from me. No, I wasn't unfriendly. On the contrary, I even tried playing with the others. However, they just couldn't stand my presence. You ask why? Well, perhaps it has to do with my aura. They told me something was off about me, but none of them could tell me what.
I further discovered I wasn't normal when the 'voices' started. Yes, I felt like someone was calling out to me. In the middle of the night, I was jolted awake when someone kept on whispering my name. Leila...Leila...we have chosen you...be one with us Leila...Of course, being only a hatchling, I got scared so I told my parents. Both of them only laughed at me thinking it was one of those childish nightmares. And so, that experience was dismissed as a mere dream.
But to my disappointed, it wasn't a dream. No, even when I woke up the next morning, everywhere I went I would sometimes here them. They keep on repeating my name over and over again. It drove me stark mad. Others often saw me talking and muttering to myself because of it. They thought I was insane. Perhaps I was. A dragon that can hear voices, after all, wasn't normal.
I grew up to become a Shadow mage because I learned that I have quote the talent for magic. However, my magical ability was somehow way beyond anyone in my clan. Being a Shadow dragon, my ability should manifest itself as shadow magic, but it didn't feel like shadow magic. It fel darker...more powerful...Using it caused much damaged to others. There was one time I accidentally hit a clan mate and the dragon experiences a series of life threatening convulsions.
It was then that my clan mates decided I wasn't fit for our clan. I was deemed to dangerous and unstable. What did they know? None of them could understand my troubles. I try to tell them, but they dismiss it as fantasies and delusions. A hate inside of me started to grow stronger. Distrust and anger could be seen in my eyes as I viewed upon the fools before forever leaving them. Leila...Leila...sacrifice them to us...kill them...
Having been exiled, I turned to wander off deep into the woods. I met an old shadow priest on the way. The priest called out to me telling me that I was the 'chosen one.' He explained that dark spirits had chosen me as their host. Those spirits were the ones who had bestowed upon me my extraordinarily strong magical powers. Moreover, to be able to control it, I must learn to accept these 'spirits.' Yes, Leila...acknowledge us and we shall bestow upon you a greater power...
In that moment, I had nothing left except for these voices. I felt angry, lonely, and scared. So I made the decision to learn more about the spirits. The priest took me under his wing until I could be able to fully control my ability. I learned to be friends with these voices inside me. They became my closest friends. Though sometimes they would suggest outrageous things such as killing a hatchling, strangling the old priest and even casting an ancient curse upon my old clan. I, however, have learned to dismiss my friends whenever that happens. By the time I have fully matured, I have become a full pledged dark priestess. Satisfied, I gave the old priest my thanks, and we went our separate ways.
The voices never did stopped even until now. I can still hear them now, but I have learned to block them out whenever they'd tell me things I didn't want to hear. I never use my magic to harm anyone. Though I cannot guarantee that if and when you anger me. These dark forces in my claws are so great that they have the power to destroy a whole clan. But worry not, I am a respectable dragon.
I have no come in search of a new clan to join. A new clan that could perhaps accept and benefit from my powers. I assure you my knowledge about magic will certainly be helpful in your clan.
And so, that ends my tale. If you wish to learn more about me, we can do so some other time.
Yours truly,
Leila
